EARLY SPRING HIKE, PICNIC + SAUNA

23 MARCH

Join us for a beautiful, 16 mile circular walk starting and finishing in Lewes going via Swanborough Lake, Southease and Glynde.

The walk is absolutely stunning, we start walking through priory ruins in Lewes, then arrive at the Nomadic Sauna at Swanborough Lake. After a sauna and cold dip we walk alongside the river Ouse, through Southease and then up Itford Hill and along the ridge to Beddingham Hill before descending down the valley to Glynde and then up to Mount Caburn, the site of an Iron Age hill fort, before descending into Lewes.

The hike is reasonably long and has a couple of steep ascents and descents over the South Downs. The views are incredible throughout the walk, at points you can see the sea in the distance as well as the river Ouse meandering through the valley. We go through a number of nature reserves with the opportunity of seeing and hearing a huge variety of birds, seeing wild ponies, rare bread sheep, newts and butterflies if it’s a warm sunny day.

We’ll bring snacks and a delicious picnic lunch made with organic and seasonal ingredients.

What’s included:

  • transport by train from London Victoria to Lewes and back to London Victoria

  • guided 16 mile hike over the South Downs

  • 60 minute sauna session and cold dips in the lake at the Nomadic Sauna at Iford
